Festive Glam Guide

December has landed so technically that means we’re officially into silly season, roll on sparkly dresses, christmas cocktails and section boxes for breakfast (just us?!). Cold as it may be, the fact that Christmas festivities are about to kick off has us just a little excited, and what better excuse for a pampering session than getting our festive glam on? We’re talking all things metallic, shimmer, sparkle and glow – as is only right for the season thats in it! Here’s our simple guide to all things festive beauty…

If time is on your side, then a little prep goes a long way. Hair removal and exfoliation should be taken care of 24 hours before beginning tan application. Exfoliation is a step you don’t want to neglect especially if shaving. Not only does it slough away any rough, dry patches but also helps prevent ingrown hairs and the lumps and bumps that accompany them. Including an oil free moisturiser in your prep, such as St. Moriz Advanced Pro Moisturising Tan Enhancer, will not only ensure even coverage, but also ensures you get that big longer out of your colour. St. Moriz Advanced Pro Weekender Gift Set has everything you need for festive tan prep, including our Advanced Pro self-tan remover in case of any application mishaps (we blame the mulled wine!) A refreshing face mask such as those with fruit enzymes will give you that baby soft glow that allows makeup to glide on, and a deep conditioning hair mask can go a long way in counter balancing heat damage and leave you with a suitably glossy mane. We’re always in favour if treating yo’self and for the time of year thats in it, a Christmas mani-pedi is often money well spent. Festive red, winter white and all that shimmers and shines are our favourite nail choices. Of course you can easily create these looks at home, just be sure to use a base and top coat and seal the look with a little cuticle oil.

When it comes to festive makeup, a makeup artist top tip is to start with a decent primer for face and eyelids. Not only will this ensure your foundation glides on seamlessly and lasts all night long, but also really makes the pigment in eyeshadows pop. Another longevity trick is to apply thin layers and build, blend, repeat! Now is the time to crack open the false lashes (who are we kidding, is there ever not a time for false lashes?!) and bright red lip. Loose translucent powder is your best friend in ensuring your freshly painted face goes the distance and setting sprays are a great option this time of year too. Not forgetting body, you can take you tan that bit deeper with some instant over your base, and any blemishes or bruises can be easily concealed with a little St. Moriz Advanced Pro Formula Ultra Finish, leaving a flawless blur-effect. Highlight collar bones, shoulders and centre of the legs for a beautifully contoured finish and you’re good to glow!!
